The Ministry of Justice Help for Prison Visits scheme provides financial support to families who need assistance with the costs of visiting a loved one in prison. This initiative is designed to help reduce the financial burden and ensure that more families can stay connected with their incarcerated relatives.
Who Can Apply?
The Help With Prison Visits scheme provides a contribution towards prison visit costs for close relatives, partners or sole visitors of individuals in prison in England, Wales and Scotland. Qualifying visitors living in England, Wales or Scotland can also apply for help to visit a prisoner held in Northern Ireland, Guernsey or Jersey. The individual applying must be on a low income or in receipt of certain benefits.
If you’re unsure whether you qualify, our team can help guide you through the eligibility criteria.
