Current Vacancies
Family Support Worker – HMP Liverpool
As part of the POPS team the post holder will provide a welcoming, supportive and family-focused service to prisoners’ children, families and visitors. The role combines visitor centre support, play provision and refreshment services to help create a positive visit experience that promotes and maintains family relationships throughout a custodial sentence and supports preparation for release and resettlement.
Family Support Worker – HMP Thorn Cross
As part of the POPS team the post holder will provide a welcoming, supportive and family-focused service to prisoners’ children, families and visitors. The role combines visitor centre support, play provision and refreshment services to help create a positive visit experience that promotes and maintains family relationships throughout a custodial sentence and supports preparation for release and resettlement.
Lead Family Engagement Worker – HMP Manchester
Based within the prison establishment, the focus of the role is to oversee the delivery of POPS’ Visitor Centre and Family Welfare Service within the establishment and to work closely with prison staff to ensure POPS’ family welfare and support is embedded and is an integral part of the prison pathways at HMP Manchester; providing information, advice and guidance for prisoners’ children, families, and significant others, throughout the custodial sentence
Family Support Worker – HMP Preston
As part of the POPS team the post holder will provide a welcoming, supportive and family-focused service to prisoners’ children, families and visitors. The role combines visitor centre support, play provision and refreshment services to help create a positive visit experience that promotes and maintains family relationships throughout a custodial sentence and supports preparation for release and resettlement.
Family Support Worker – HMP Garth
As part of the POPS team, the post holder will provide a welcoming, supportive and family-focused service to prisoners’ children, families and visitors. The role combines visitor centre support, play provision and refreshment services to help create a positive visit experience that promotes and maintains family relationships throughout a custodial sentence and supports preparation for release and resettlement.
Play Worker – HMP Dovegate
Working as part of POPS’ staff team the purpose of the post is to ensure that children visiting enjoy a wide range of play activities during prison visit sessions and family day events. The post holder will oversee play area within the prison visit room hall, providing a range of play activities for 2-5 yr olds, in addition, the post holder will prepare a range of tabletop activities for older children to engage in with the person they are visiting their loved one.
Family Support Worker – HMP Lancaster Farms
The purpose of the post is to staff the visit centre at HMP Lancaster, creating and maintaining welcoming environment and to meet and greet all visitors to the establishment. The post holder will provide information, practical advice emotional support to visitors where necessary, to ensure prisoners’ children, families and visitors are able to maintain positive and supportive relationships to throughout the custodial sentence and prepare effectively for release and resettlement.
Visit Centre Worker – HMP Fosse Way
The purpose of the post is to staff the visit centre at HMP Fosseway, creating and maintaining
welcoming environment and to meet and greet all visitors to the establishment.
Visit Centre Worker – HMP Dovegate
The purpose of the post is to staff the visit centre at HMP Dovegate, creating and maintaining welcoming environment and to meet and greet all visitors to the establishment. The post holder will provide information, practical advice emotional support to visitors where necessary, to ensure prisoners’ children, families and visitors are able to maintain positive and supportive relationships to throughout the custodial sentence and prepare effectively for release and resettlement
Refreshment Worker – HMP Dovegate
The purpose of the post is to operate the tea bar refreshment service in the prison visit hall. The post holder will serve a range of hot and cold snacks and drinks to prisoners and visitors during all visit sessions, In addition, the post holder is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the refreshment area, working to Environmental Health legislation and wider Health and Safety requirements, stock rotation, stock take and ordering and cash reconciliation procedures.
