Media and Press

Thank you for your interest in POPS and the important work we do. We are always happy to engage with the media and share insights about our mission to support families with a loved one in the criminal justice system.

About POPS

POPS is a UK charity dedicated to supporting families affected by the criminal justice system.

We provide emotional support, guidance, and practical resources to help families navigate the challenges they face, ensuring that they don’t have to go through this experience alone.

Through our services, we advocate for positive change and work to raise awareness about the impact the criminal justice system has on families.

Our vision is that all families, including children, affected by the justice system feel valued and are treated fairly, so they can live free from stigma, enabling them to actively participate, take up new opportunities and consider future possibilities.

We are happy to assist with information, arrange interviews, or provide background on our work. Please be aware that we get a lot of requests for interviews with family members. We encourage all media professionals to consider the impact on families of participating in publicly available content, as well as being aware of possible victims. As such we discourage interviews that are focused on the offence committed.

Family members who are prepared to undertake interviews often request some level of anonymity when engaging with the media to protect their families from societal and community stigma so please consider what you may be able to offer in way of this when getting in touch.

POPS is committed to raising awareness and fostering positive change, and we look forward to partnering with the media to help us amplify the voices of families affected by the criminal justice system.
