POPS published in Prison Service Journal

PSJPOPS, in partnership with Kathryn Sharratt, a research assistant at the Applied Criminology Centre, University of Huddersfield, have recently had two articles published in the latest edition of the Prison Service Journal.

‘Incentivising Prison Visits: New Research Findings on the Needs of Children with Imprisoned Mothers and Fathers’ considers the benefits of extended, supportive family days and argues that family visits should not be part of the Incentives and Earned Privileges Scheme but instead should be open to all parents in prison.

‘Nowhere Else to Turn’ — Key Findings from an Evaluation of the Offenders’ Families Helpline examines the impact of the Offenders’ Families Helpline funded by NOMS. The evaluation demonstrates the service is an important and highly valued support for those who access it and can help families to cope with the experience of a partner being imprisoned.
